What is SanctuSpheres
SanctuSpheres is a company that has its roots with a family company called Helikon Design Corporation in Maryland. Helikon Design Corporation had manufactured a round energy efficient structure named the Helix Structure®. SanctuSpheres founder is Kurt Preissler is the son of the founder of Helikon Design Corporation, Detlev Preissler. Kurt went west in 1993 to attempt other interests. Instead of going back into building design Kurt chose to work for Apple Computer as a marketing rep, he then became a successful consultant, designer and photographer.
In the recent years, Kurt has had the urge to develop ecologically and earth friendly products. The first products he has designed and started to manufacture are his raised bed mobile planters. Kurt sees the need for people to grow food locally, organically and reduce their carbon foot print. He realizes many people can not afford their own houses and most homes, especially in California, lack yards big enough to grow vegetables, fruits and other edible plants He notes that each house has a massive drive way or large concrete patios. These areas sit idle and mostly un-used. Hence he developed the mobile raised bed planter… Raised bed planters are deep well containers that allow the full root growth for most vegetable, berries and small fruit trees. The raised bed planter are large enough to feed one to two people or help suppliment larger families.
The planters can be easily moved to provide parking for cars, social gatherings or relocated. No area is ever lost, it always utilized.
More products are on their way. Kurt always wanted to create a small building for people to be able to relax and be productive in. At the same time allowing one to have privacy and solitude while still being at home, a sanctuary. These units will be available in the near future, they might be round (hence spheres) and will be the core of the SancuSphere experience.
